시간 / Time (2018) Episode 5 Recap Part 1

The writer of Mask this time partnered with MBC brought us another melodrama.

시간 / Time is a story about a man does not have much time to live. Giving everything he has, he struggles to help a woman whose life was destroyed because of him.

Soo-Ho (Kim Jung-Hyun) is the CEO of a restaurant and the son of a family that runs large company W. Due to him, Ji-Hyun’s (Seohyun) life is ruined. Soo-Ho wants to turn back time for Ji-Hyun. Meanwhile, Ji-Hyun had a bright personality and easily socialized with others, but things changed. Her younger sibling suddenly dies and her time stops right there.

Episode 5 Part 1 Recap 

The episode started with the ending scene of episode four, where Yang Hee-Sook( Seol Ji-Hyun's mother) and Geum Tae-Sung were ambushed and killed. While Shin Min Seok pathetically tried to stop the killer, that he actually paid to kill  Geum Tae-Sung when, he found that her mother was also on the car however it was too late.

It is only the beginning, so I wonder, how low do the writers want Shin Min-Seok ( Seol Ji-Hyun's ex-fiancé) to go? because it only has been a few episodes and his character development has gone downhill. 

I´m not saying that it´s a bad thing, but I´m not also saying that it´s a good thing either, due to the fact that, they tried to build his character has a low ranking official who was trying to make ends meet, thus he took that easier path that was to sacrifice his morality due to  a huge  sum of money that could help him take care of his sick father, find stability so that he could propose to Ji-Hyun.

instead, he decided to betray her trust, covered the truth about her sister´s death, made Cheon Soo-ho believe that he was the murderer, not only that he is working for Cheon Soo-Ho´s dad but he also is working for Eun Chae-A. 

 As a viewer i certainly  i know that, he is the villain but I find it funny that sometimes he  acts as if he was the hero, like the world was against him or something, he lies to himself saying that everything that he´s doing it´s for the best interest of everyone, but in reality it´s all for him.

I don´t know how many people around her need to die for her to open her eyes, how can she lose both her sister and mother in a matter of days? I know is fiction but sheesh.

Contrary to the previous episode, where Ji-Hyun took her mother to visit her sister I actually was not convinced with the acting, it didn´t seem genuine to me, but then again it´s just my lowly and humble opinion 😅😅😅.

 Álthough I wasn´t pleased with the acting from the previous episode, this time I actually enjoyed it, precisely this scene, where Ji-Hyun is so sick and tired of losing family members that she can´t even shed tears anymore. 

For the first time, Cheon Soo-Ho openly tried to help Ji-hyun ( because he´s her guardian angel and helps her from the shadows😎)  but was rejected. she was mentally drained and decided to go home.

Meanwhile, Cheon Soo-Ho thought that the way Ji-Hyun´s mother died was suspicious, thus he started to investigate by himself. he met with an old "friend" that work at the police department to help him investigate the case.

Fast forward at the company, they were at a meeting and Che soo hoo suspected that one way or another both his fiancé Eun Chea-A and Shin Min Seok were involved. He then decided to confront the latter.

How ironic  🤔🤔🤔

confronted by Cheon Soo hoo, Shin Min Seok defense mechanism activated, he had the audacity to pretend like he didn´t kill Ji-Hyun's mother and that he didn´t know about the funeral instead he "advises" Cheon Soo to stay away from Ji-Hyun since he was engaged and need to "mind his own business".

Yes king, show him who´s BOSS!

I love that both the Main Lead and the Antagonist stand their ground, on one side Shin Min Seok is being cornered and if he shows weakness, that means game over. Meaning that he could go to jail, and on the other side is Cheon Soo Ho, despite trying to uncover the truth he can´t find any, on top of that, he got attacked but instead of backing out went forward and retaliated.

After the confrontation, Cheon Soo Hoo went look for Ji-hyun but to no avail was thrown out by her.

stalker much? 🤣🤣🤣

Thus Soo Ho mastered a plan! he set up Ji Hyun coworker to spy on her.  he gave the coworker a credit card so that, she could buy everything that Ji Hyun needed. while taking care of her, she had to report to him and what better way than taking Jihyun´s every step than posting her photos on Instagram? I love the little spy.

After finding out the truth of her being spied on, Ji Hyun thanks soo ho and her coworker and decides to go home, what she needed was to heal on her own.

Moments later Mr. Brazen aka Shin Min Seok appears and once again there´s a confrontation between the two. this time Mr. Brazen says that he saw suspicious movements on Soo Ho account, therefore, he went to the mall to confirm it. obviously, Soo Ho didn´t buy it, even if there were irregularities on his bank account on basis does Min Seok thinks that he could act on his own free will?

so once again they end up arguing, Min Seok life the "saint" that he is he says that everything does such as breaking with Ji Hyun was for her sake. he also accused Soo Ho of using Ji hyun for his own sake.

Soo Ho  yaa, you are not alone😭😭😭 

This is the Lat scene of Part 1, Soo Ho reach the conclusion that "Enemies Are Everywhere"

I really hope he doesn´t doubt himself and starts believing more and more in Mr.Brazen because his poisonous mouth my Soo Ho looks defeated.

P.S I hope you enjoyed my review, I know I didn't cover everything, because I only covered what I thought that  was important, I know that I didn´t include the scene of Chae A spying on soo and Min Seok, Min Seok colluding with Soo Ho older brother and last but not least Min Seok asking Chae A for more money.
